Overview
Quatro Dual Screen is a data-first watch face for Garmin Connect IQ devices, built around two full screens. On each screen, a large two-line clock sits at the center, surrounded by eight text fields separated by 8 radiating dividers — each can be assigned to any of 80+ available data points, from steps and heart rate to weather and moon phase, or to a value from an external app installed on your watch, so the face always shows exactly what matters to you.
16 Custom Data Fields
Fill all 16 fields across two screens, each separated by 8 radiating dividers, from 80+ data points — activity, health, weather, sun, moon and more.
Calendar Screen
Swipe or tap to a full monthly calendar with a countdown marker for a date you choose.
Any Complication
Bind a field directly to data from an external app installed on your watch — not just NightScout.
Custom Field Labels
Override any field's icon with your own short text label.
Tap-to-Launch Widgets
Long-press the hour or minute digits — or tap any field — to jump straight to the matching native Garmin widget or that field's own external app.
Day & Night Themes
Two independent color themes that switch automatically at sunrise/sunset (or times you set), each with its own background, primary and values colors.
Multi-provider Weather
Choose Garmin's built-in weather, OpenWeatherMap, QWeather or MET Weather, with automatic background refresh.
Device tiers
Quatro Dual Screen automatically ships the right build for your watch: a standard layout for most round devices, an AMOLED-optimised layout with always-on display support for bright-display watches, a semi-octagon layout matched to the Instinct 2 line, a square/rectangular layout for the Venu Sq family, and a trimmed layout for older, memory-constrained devices.
Layout & Themes
The time sits at the center of the face, hour above minute. Eight straight dividers radiate out from the center, separating eight text fields — two per side (top, right, bottom, left) — each set independently in Settings. Every element can be reassigned in meaning (not position) by simply picking a different data source for that field.
-
8 text fields per screen
Top-left, top-right, right-top, right-bottom, bottom-right, bottom-left, left-bottom and left-top — any single-value data point, set independently on each of the two screens.
-
Radial indicators
The Move bar and AQI fields additionally draw a small radial dial around their icon to show level at a glance.
-
Custom labels
Any field can have its icon replaced with your own short text label, configured per field in Settings.
Two screens & Calendar
Quatro Dual Screen has two independent screens — 16 fields in total — plus a full calendar screen, all reachable without leaving the watch face:
| Trigger | Behaviour |
| Double wrist-raise gesture | Switches to the second screen or the calendar screen, whichever you set as the Double wrist gesture action in Settings (5-second window after raising your wrist twice). |
| Tap action | Either long-press action (hour or minute digits) can also be set to Switch between screens or Calendar screen. See Tap Actions. |
| Tap the calendar screen | Tap the left/right arrows to move a month at a time; tap the center to return to the watch face. |
The calendar highlights today's date and marks the date configured for the Time counter field, so you can see how many days remain at a glance.
Day & night themes
Quatro Dual Screen automatically switches between two independent color themes at sunrise and sunset (using your saved GPS location), or at custom times you define per theme. Each theme has its own set of colors:
| Color |
Description |
| Dark background | Toggles the face background between black and white for this theme. |
| Primary color | Accent color used for the minute digits and field icons. |
| Values color | Color used for the hour digits and the text of data field values. |
| Lines color | Color of the 8 dividers separating the fields. |
Each theme also has its own hour and minute font (System, Light, Regular, Medium, Bold, Outline or Exo).
Always-On Display
Always-on / low-power handling depends on your display technology:
- On transflective (MIP) devices — the standard, low-memory and Instinct 2 (semi-octagon) builds — the face stays fully visible in low-power mode, and the seconds field, if assigned, keeps ticking via a partial-update redraw when Always update seconds is enabled.
- On AMOLED devices — the AMOLED and Venu Sq builds — a dithering burn-in-protection mask is drawn instead while in low-power mode, and you choose how much of the face stays visible:
| Option | Behaviour |
| Empty screen | An empty screen is shown in low-power mode, to save the most battery. |
| Only time | Only the time is shown while the watch is in low-power mode. |
| Show all fields | The full face, with all data fields, remains visible in low-power mode. |
Data Fields
Each of the 16 fields (8 per screen) can be set independently, from Garmin Connect IQ app settings, to any of the values below — or, on devices that support it, to a value from an external app installed on the watch (see Complications & Third-Party Data). All fields are available during the trial and after unlocking; there is no per-field paid tier.
Every field below lists its exact device support, taken directly from the app's build configuration. Expand Supported devices under any field to see it. Fields marked "All Quatro Dual Screen devices" are compiled for every supported watch — on hardware that lacks the underlying sensor, they fall back to the n/a placeholder described in Troubleshooting.

Blood glucose (from NightScout) — Requires a configured NightScout URL. See Complications & Third-Party Data below.
Supported devicesAll Quatro Dual Screen devices.
Any Complication — On the watch, pick any external app currently publishing data on your device directly from the field list; its own icon/value is shown, formatted for distance, elevation, temperature, weight or speed as appropriate. Picking it from the phone app only marks the field as external — finish the pick on the watch. See Complications & Third-Party Data below.
Supported devicesPicking a specific Complication requires the on-device settings menu, only present on the standard and AMOLED builds — not compiled for the low-memory, semi-octagon (Instinct 2) or square (Venu Sq) builds.
Altimeter/barometer safety notice
The altimeter/barometer is intended for general altitude determination only and is not intended for skydiving, BASE jumping, or similar sports. These sensors are not certified life-safety equipment and may give inaccurate readings, which can create a risk to life.
Weather
Weather fields (current conditions, high/low temperature, precipitation, humidity, AQI, pressure and wind) can be sourced from any of four providers:
| Provider | Notes |
| Garmin | Built-in, no API key required. Precipitation chance and AQI are not available. |
| OpenWeatherMap | Requires a free personal API key, entered in settings. Precipitation chance is not available. |
| QWeather | Requires a free API key. Useful in regions with better QWeather coverage. |
| MET Weather | Data from the Norwegian Meteorological Institute, no API key required. |
The update interval is configurable, and sunrise/sunset can optionally be taken from the weather provider instead of being calculated locally. Weather requires internet connectivity through your paired phone, refreshed by a periodic background service.
Complications & Third-Party Data
Quatro Dual Screen can pull data from third-party sources and show it directly as a face field:
Any Complication
On the watch, open a field's picker in Settings and choose from the built-in data points or any external app currently publishing data on your device — its value is read and formatted automatically. Setting a field to "External app" from the phone app marks it for this pick, to finish on the watch.
NightScout
Displays blood glucose readings pulled from your NightScout instance, in mg/dL or mmol/L, as a built-in data field.
The external app/data source picker requires the on-device settings menu (standard and AMOLED builds only). The NightScout field requires a configured NightScout URL to be present and actively publishing data.
Medical disclaimer
Quatro Dual Screen is not a medical device. Blood glucose and any other health-related data from an external app is shown for informational purposes only. Do not use this information to make medical decisions, including calculating insulin doses. Always rely on the readings from your primary device and consult a healthcare professional.
Tap Actions
With Allow long press enabled (System 6 and a touch screen required), Quatro Dual Screen turns the face into a launcher:
- Tapping any of the 16 data fields (8 per screen) opens the matching native Garmin widget for that data type (e.g. tapping the heart-rate field opens the Heart Rate widget) — or, for a field bound to an external app, that app's own detail view.
- Long-pressing the hour digits runs the action assigned to Hours long press action in Settings.
- Long-pressing the minute digits runs the action assigned to Minutes long press action in Settings.
Each of the two long-press actions can be set to open a native widget (Activity, Altitude, Body Battery, Calories, Floors, Heart Rate, Notifications, Oxygen saturation, Pressure, Respiration rate, Solar intensity, Steps, Stress, Today's suggestion, Training status, VO2 max Cycling, VO2 max Running, Weather, Week bike distance, Week run distance) — or to one of three special actions:
| Action | Effect |
| Randomize accent | Picks a new random accent color for the current theme, contrasting with the background. |
| Calendar screen | Opens the calendar screen. See Two Screens & Calendar. |
| Switch between screens | Toggles between the first and second screen. See Two Screens & Calendar. |
Tap-to-launch requires the device to have entered its trial/unlock verification — the very first tap after installing simply starts a 15-minute trial rather than launching a widget.
Settings
All settings are managed through the Garmin Connect IQ mobile app or Garmin Express on desktop. Open the app list, find Quatro Dual Screen, and tap Settings. A trimmed on-device settings menu is also available on devices that support it.

Trial & Unlock
There is no per-field paid tier — every field, screen and theme is available from the first install. Instead, the whole watch face itself is either unlocked or locked.
Free to download. The full watch face — 16-field, dual-screen layout, calendar screen, every theme, and every data field, including data from external apps — is fully usable during the trial.
Get it on Garmin Connect IQ
Once the trial ends, the whole watch face locks — no fields work until it's unlocked again. Pay once, tied to your watch face's own serial number, for a permanent unlock, or press and hold anywhere on screen for a temporary one. See About & Payment below.

Troubleshooting
If a field shows a short code instead of a value, here is what it means:
| Code | Meaning |
n/a | The selected field is not available on your device. |
n/d | There is no data to display yet. Just wait for a while. |
n/c | No connection. Check the availability of the device's connection. |
set GPS | The Get system location toggle in Settings shows this until it has a GPS fix, and a weather or sun/moon field needs your location — enable Get system location or enter coordinates manually. |
API key | You need to enter the weather provider's API key in settings. |
About & Payment
How payment works
Quatro Dual Screen doesn't use a code you buy and type in — instead, each installation is assigned its own unique serial number. During the free trial the face works normally. Once the trial ends, the face locks and alternates every few seconds between showing your serial number and a QR code.
Paying for your copy
- On the locked watch face, scan the QR code with your phone — or open Settings → 🔑 Serial number on the watch to view the same QR code at any time, even during the trial.
